MERGER TO MARRIAGE by Addison Fox is a story about two driven businesss professionals, a pregnancy and a big real estate deal that depends on the hero getting a wife.
Mayson McBride is enjoying her sister Keira's wedding to Nathan Cooper, when she spills Boudreaux down the front of her light colored bridesmaid dress. She knows she cannot stay at the reception with a big red stain on the front of her dress so she heads up to her hotel room to change. As she is rushing back to the reception she slips in her heals and is caught by a wide chest with wider shoulders that are attached to a gorgeous man. By the way he is dressed he must be one of the wedding guests, but she cannot remember seeing him. After he catches her they decide to sit in the lobby for a while, especially after he produces a bottle of the Boudreaux. She explains that is why she was rushing back to the wedding to make sure she got a glass before it was all gone. As they sit in a quiet corner of the lobby sharing the wine and doing the introductions, he is Holt and she is Elizabeth. She feels a little guilty about using her middle name, but tonight she does not want to be a McBride sister or sister of the bride, she just wants to be anonymous. They can both sense the sexual sparks that are flying between them, and deciding that neither one of them will be missed at the wedding they head to Elizabeth's hotel room. After a night of passion and sex, they have gone their separate ways and back to their lives.
Now two months later neither one of them can forget that night. Holt has discretely asked Nathan about a guest named Elizabeth, but Nathan assures him there was no one there by that name. Mayson has not been feeling well lately and figures she has been working too hard, so when Keira invites her and their other sister Camryon up the Newport house for the weekend for good food and some fun she decides to go.
She meets up with Holt again and reintroduces herself as Mayson. They go have a nice breakfast the next day and that is when she drops the bomb that she is pregnant and that he is the father. They get back to the house and are getting out of the car when Teddy Craddick is getting out of his. He is Uncle Teddy to Mayson and her sisters, but to Holt he is the biggest deal he has been trying to land for over a decade.
I recommend MERGER TO MARRIAGE, it is a fast paced story and has a lot of twist and turns that you won't see coming. I enjoyed the way Ms. Fox wrote this story of two professionals and how they finally handle the situation of becoming parents, and keeping their professional careers.
This is the second book in Ms.Fox's Boardrooms & Billionaires series and it is a wonderful follow up to Tempting Acquisitions.
