Romance Contemporary

In the second book of the Dare Me series, Bell focuses on Cat Thomas, sister of Galen, the hero of the first book in the series. Cat has always been a lively character who enjoys having fun. So she cannot say no to a dare that puts her and her brother's best friend, Shane Decker under the covers in a night she won't forget. Cat's plan backfires because the next day, she finds herself thinking about Shane and their hot night together. The one night stand was meant to get Shane out of her system, but now that Shane has come back to town to stay, Cat is starting to see the dangerous appeal to the safe and sensitive Shane Decker. While Cat is set on only have a good time, Shane is a man looking for a relationship and commitment. Bell takes both Cat and Shane on a journey to shows just how easy falling in love can be. While laugh-out --loud funny and sweet as sin, I felt a lot of the events and emotions became a tad too predictable. Cat kept insisting that she doesn't need Shane, but everyone including her brother can see the sparks between the two. Even though this is the second book in the series, a lot of detail and the main characters of the first book play big roles in this one, so I highly suggest reading this series in order. Bell gives readers updates on Galen and Lacey so if you follow the series, you are guaranteed further character and plot developments. DOWN AND DIRTY is definitely a feel-good read. With a hero who can melt your heart and a heroine who isn't afraid of showing her feisty side, readers get the perfect balance of naughty and nice!

SUMMARY

Cat Thomas has never been the kind of girl to stick. A self-professed infatuation junky, she latches on the newest, hottest guy on the block, then finds a reason—real or imagined—to dump him. When she accepts a dare to rekindle her high school flame and jump in bed with her brother’s best friend, Shane Decker, she knows she’s in trouble. She can’t resist the man, even after all these years apart, and that just won’t do. Shane has come back to town for a couple reasons. The biggest one? He’s tired of living away from those he loves, including Cat. But now she’s spooked and will do anything to drive a wedge between them, including trying to fix him up with other women through an online dating service. What does he have to do to make her see that settling down doesn’t mean settling, and he’s ready to spend a lifetime proving it?
