Fantasy Steampunk
The Jackson Brothers are back and still not quite sure if
they really are THE CHOSEN. These hunter brothers are
searching for the Book of Legends that had been divided
into three parts. They need to put the book back together
to close the Gates of Nyx and stop Rathe, a demon Lord who
wants to conquer the world.
Remington Jackson is an attorney by day and hunter by
night. He's rescued China McGee for his brother Colt
because he says she can help find the pieces. China is a
Darkin, a shifter who isn't limited in shape or size and
just what the brothers normally hunt for not hunt with.
But Remington is starting to think different thoughts about
China, ones he never imagined would come to his brain.
China McGee was marked by Rathe and wants that mark gone.
She certainly does have an agenda of her own; one that she
starts to hope doesn't get the gorgeous man killed. But
what she really doesn't want is for Remy to find out her
biggest secret ... the one that might get them both killed or
if they manage to survive cause him to hate her.
THE CHOSEN is the third book of the Legend Chronicles
series and just as fantastic as the first two. Author
Theresa Meyers has a way with making steampunk seem
realistic with witty dialogue, sometimes scathing humor,
lots of action including some rather steamy moments and
surprisingly down to earth characters. All the while she
takes you through strange and evil situations as the
hunters and their partners try to save the world. I hope
this is not the last we see of this intriguing world
because it really is incredible.
An added bonus to this print book is a previously released
e-book novella called The Inventor ... the story of Sir
Marley Turlock and Lady Persephone Hargrieve which adds
more background on the genius inventor Marley.
SUMMARY
The Chosen: a prophecy older than dirt and more dangerous
than death. Even as they perfected steam-powered gadgetry
and rounded up varmints from Hell, the Jackson brothers
didn't believe in it. But when the chips are down, three
brothers named for weapons aren't going out without a fight. . . A Walk On The Wild Side Attorney by day, demon-hunter by night, Remington Jackson is
used to being on the sunny side of the law, even in the Wild
West. But it's showdown time, and Remy and his brothers are
getting desperate. They don't have the relic they need to
slam the door shut on evil--so Remy is going to have to find
and steal part of it. Enter China McGee, shapeshifter, thief, beauty, and current
prisoner. When Remy offers her freedom in exchange for a
little light-fingered help, she's pretty sure she's going to
end the association with a good old-fashioned seductive
double cross. But there's something about fighting through a
jungle full of Mayan ruins that makes you want to settle
down together. China could change. Remy might be special.
But none of that matters if the devil takes them all. . .
