Harry Chattan is on a mission to save his brother's life.
For two-hundred years, every Chattan man who dared fall in
love soon died of a broken heart. Henry's brother recently
married, and his time is running out. Only THE SCOTTISH
WITCH can end the curse and save Lyon Chattan's life.
Portia Maclean has an old book of spells, and she needs
money to help her family. When Henry Chattan comes to
Glenfinnan looking for a witch, she decides to play the part
and get the reward. She soon finds herself caught up in the
race to end the curse, in time to save her own true love.
Lyon's Bride is the first book in Cathy Maxell's Chattan
Curse series. I haven't read it, but that didn't impede my
understanding or enjoyment of THE SCOTTISH WITCH. Maxwell
has woven the curse, a mysterious cat, and three love
stories into a fast-paced novel of magic and madness. The
characters are well-drawn; even the minor characters have
their own personalities.
THE SCOTTISH WITCH is quite enjoyable and left me very much
looking forward to the third book The Devil's Heart.
Every woman has her dreams
Portia Maclean believes she is beyond love and marriage.
Then one moonlit night, while attempting a daring
masquerade in a desperate bid to protect her family, she
finds herself swept off her feet by a powerful stranger.
His very touch makes her long for much more. But what will
he do when once he discovers she has betrayed him?
Every man has his demons

been destroyed by love.and now he's come to Scotland on the
hunt for a witch who can break the legend's curse. Instead
