Paige Langford has just been fired from her first job in
Philadelphia after being sabotaged by her co-worker, which
she believed was her boyfriend. Paige's only goal in life
has been to finish college with a degree in administration
so her father will feel she is qualified to take over the
family business, Langford Plumbing. Ashamed at failing she
decides to keep it to herself and visit her brother Noah who
is starting a new company, Langford & Lovejoy Heritage
Furniture. Being a vet Noah has a policy of hiring only
Vets. Coming home himself from Iraq with PTSD, he plans on
building his business while helping his comrades overcome
the same obstacles.
Paige arrives in Perfect, Indiana in the middle of the
night to walk in on a very naked male now occupying the
carriage house behind Noah's house. The hairy and bearded
Ryan Malloy is another product of PTSD, previously under the
orders of his then Lieutenant, Noah. Accepting Noah's job
offer in the design department has most likely saved Ryan's
life. Contemplating suicide over guilt at the loss of
comrades and death of the love of his life, his whiskey and
.357 have become a priority to keep his horrific nightmares
under control. Paige is hired temporarily by Noah and is
extremely happy with what she is doing. Noah and Paige are
both blindsided by the hot and sensual attraction for each
other. A hot affair is pursued between them until
all of their secrets are revealed. Finally being
offered that "perfect" job, Paige now has to re=evaluate
what her heart is telling her and Ryan has to forgive
himself for the past to live again and fight for what he
wants.
THE DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES is filled with self-forgiveness
and the
ability to follow your heart for what feels right. This
very emotional tale reveals the inner workings of the mind
of someone who has truly been through the horrible sights of
war and other tragedy that no one should have to endure.
The restoration and redemption of Noah's soul and mind was
extremely passionate and heart- warming. Barbara Longley
has portrayed the misery and fight that must be endured to
again join the human race. You will remember THE DIFFERENCE
A DAY MAKES long
after the last page is turned.
In the picturesque tiny town of Perfect, Indiana, a
down-but-not-out career gal clashes with a soldier hiding a
painful secret…
Paige Langford has it all: wealth, beauty, and ambition. Yet
when her boyfriend’s betrayal costs her both her dream job
and her reputation, she retreats to her brother’s rural home
in Indiana to heal and figure out the rest of her life.
There she meets Ryan Malloy, a gruff, hard-drinking cowboy
whose surly temper can’t hide the pain in his eyes.
Ryan Malloy has lost it all. He is a man on the edge,
haunted by war and a lost love, who finds solace in a
bottle—until a job offer from his former commander provides
a glimmer of hope, and a second chance for the future.
Paige has always avoided brooding bad boys like Ryan, yet he
might be exactly what she needs, while Ryan, the man who
thought he had nothing left to live for, is tempted to risk
his battered heart one last time...
