"When The Match Breakers becomes a Matchmaker Sparks Fly"

Fresh Fiction Review

And Then She Fell
Stephanie Laurens

Romance Historical

Henrietta Cynster's talent lies with ferreting out the truth underneath the folderols of impending engagement. Those who request her skills can then make an informed decision rather than be chivvied into marriage under false pretenses. As she has no strong desire for the married state herself, the impact of her actions on her own prospects is inconsequential until in helping one friend, she harms another.

As a bosom beau of her brother Simon, James Glossup has known Henrietta Cynster for years. She was someone who deserved his respect and protection until her unwarranted interference ruined his chance of making a match that would save his inheritance. If he cannot marry before time runs out, he will lose the funds necessary to support those who live on his estate. Henrietta insists on trying to help him find a bride, but his own concerns fade when it becomes clear her life is in danger.

Stephanie Laurens always succeeds in blending historical romance with mystery and suspense. It is no surprise her loyal fans are as eager to read the next installment in the Cynster family adventures as they were when the series began almost twenty books ago. I always know when I open a Laurens romance that I will find main characters I can admire as well as a story filled with humor and intrigue. Oh, and don't forget the passion, the love scenes are plenty steamy too.

AND THEN SHE FELL is the nineteenth in Stephanie Laurens' Cynster series, the first in the Cynster Sisters sub-series. Book twenty ( Cynster Sisters two ), The Taming of Rider Cavanaugh, will be published in July, 2013.

SUMMARY

The only thing more troublesome than a Cynster man...is a Cynster lady who belives love is not her destiny. Famously known in London society as "The Matchbreaker," Henrietta Cynster's uncanny skill lies in preventing ill-fated nuptials - not in falling victim to Cupid's spell.

But then she distrupts one match too many and feels honor- bound to assist dashing James Glossup in finding a suitable bride for a marriage of convenience.

A task infernally complicated by the undeniable, unquenchable attraction that flares between James and Henrietta, who continues to believe she will never fall...
