BACK TO YOU by Robin Kaye is a book I just could not put down. Robin Kaye does a great job of keeping readers interested in the story. Right from the start, I could tell either I would finish it, or my eyes would give out.
BACK TO YOU is the story of Storm and Breanna, who have known each other most of their lives. Eleven years after they last see each other they they meet up again in their old neighborhood, Red Hook; which is a part of Brooklyn. Breanna tries to keep her distance as Storm has hurt her in the past. But can she stay away from him?
Robin Kaye's story is about a neighborhood that has gone from not being the best place to live and work, to becoming a good place to live and work. Any one who lives in a close knit neighborhood will appreciate the story of how Red Hook gets turned around. I found myself feeling like Breanna and wondering what I could do for the neighborhood I live in.
The story introduces characters and we see how they all intertact with one another. There is Nicki, a 10 year old that comes to live with Breanna and Pete. Pete is a retired policeman who takes in strays. Pete has been like a father to Storm, his two brothers, Breanna, and now Nicki.
There are a few secrets which involve all the main characters. Pete is the secret keeper, and hass kept these secrets for ten years. He is afraid that the truth will hurt several people.
Storm has become a ship designer. Breanna takes over managing Pete's bar when he takes ill. Both are stubborn and butt heads on how the bar should be run.
In BACK TO YOU, there is romance, secrets, and laughter. I can't wait for the next installment of this series.
