THE WANDERER by Robyn Carr is the first book in her new series, Thunder Point.  If you are a fan of Robyn's Virgin River series this book will not disappoint.   It is the story of Hank Cooper.  The story takes place in Oregon where Coop goes to take care of business for a friend, Ben who has passed away.  When he gets there he meets the local sheriff, Mac and his family.  He also meets Landon, the high school quarterback who is having problems with the local punk.  He also gets introduced to Landen's older sister Sarah.  She has been raising Landon since he was five and their parents died.  She is recently divorced and is afraid of letting go of her heart.  Coop on the other hand has commitment issues and has never really given his heart to anyone.  THE WANDERER is full of quirky charters who will keep you turning the pages. Mac is very good friends with Gina.  She is a single mom who works at the local diner. Mac is a single Dad who lives with his Aunt.  Mac and Gina's daughters are best friends and do everything together.  So Mac and Gina spend a lot of time together but as friends only.  Mac is afraid to take it to the next level but Gina has loved him for years.  Mac is afraid if things don't work out he will let Gina down and ruin their friendship.  Gina is at the end of her rope, waiting for Mac to realize that they could have a good thing. So, she takes things into her own hands and this is where Mac goes crazy! THE WANDERER was a very quick read and I really got wrapped up in all the things going on with all of these people in town.  I have never been to Oregon but this book makes me want to go there now.  It's a lot like the Virgin River series but with a new setting and really awesome and funny people.  Thunder Point would be an awesome place to call home if only Hank Cooper would get over his fears and see what is right in front of his face.  I love this new series. Robyn just has a way of pulling you right in and never letting go until the very last page.  I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

SUMMARY

Nestled on the Oregon coast is a small town of rocky beaches and rugged charm. Locals love the land's unspoiled beauty. Developers see it as a potential gold mine. When newcomer Hank Cooper learns he's been left an old friend's entire beachfront property, he finds himself with a community's destiny in his hands. Cooper has never been a man to settle in one place, and Thunder Point was supposed to be just another quick stop. But Cooper finds himself getting involved with the town. And with Sarah Dupre, a woman as complicated as she is beautiful. With the whole town watching for his next move, Cooper has to choose between his old life and a place full of new possibilities. A place that just might be home.
