Romance Series

Using illegal (grey area) P.I. tactics, Cammie Copello is dismissed from her job with attorney Marc Hamilton and moves from Denver to Las Vegas to stay with her Uncle Frankie. Secretly falling in love with Marc was a mistake as he was engaged. Gwen, his fiancée, eventually embezzled money from his firm and took off, leaving him as the culprit and endangering the status of his license to practice law. Cammie has again been caught, this time by the Vegas police for the misuse of a GPS, thus temporarily losing her P.I. License. Now she is working tables at a casino until she can hopefully regain her license.

Marc's elderly father Harlan, the previous senior partner in the firm, is serving 10-12 years in prison for embezzling investments from his clients for personal use. Marc is desperate to get his father's parole approved after 5+ years to enable him to seek medical care for his terminal illness and spend his last years with his son and granddaughter, Emily. Emily, a real health nut teen, is only visiting her father as her parents are divorced. A quick trip to Vegas with Emily in tow finally wins Cammie's acceptance to help find his ex-fiancée and bring her in to help clear him with the Colorado Attorney Disciplinary Agency to protect his license. He fully intends to defend his father. Marc and Cammie are caught up in some "grey" areas of the law and Cammie makes decisions that end the hot sexual relationship they have just started. Walking away from each other takes a detour and Cammie shares a secret at her uncle's Elvis wedding that changes everything.

Colleen Collins writes a really cute story of the most quirky but good hearted woman who lives to take chances. Her little escapades are certain to keep her in trouble....always. As you read this book it becomes extremely hard to keep from chuckling one minute and being sad the next. I absolutely had to read THE NEXT RIGHT THING in one sitting, as I couldn't wait to find out what she did next to get into trouble. THE NEXT RIGHT THING is definitely an exciting page turner you don't want to miss!

SUMMARY

Cammie Copello gets results—even if it means stretching the rules. That's what makes her a great private investigator. It's also what caused the little breach between her and attorney Marc Hamilton. It's too bad, because they made a great team. And, honestly, her career hasn't been the same since.

So imagine her surprise when Marc shows up begging for her help with a personal case. When he turns on the charm…well, she can't refuse. But she can keep her attraction to Marc a secret—regardless of how tempting he is. Her intentions are put to the test, however, when he proves that the attraction is not one-sided!
