Romance Contemporary

Claire Walters feels the burden of responsibility. She has a full time job as Jason Danvers' Assistant at Danvers International but it's still not enough to cover her own expenses and those of her widowed mother who is in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease. To make ends meet she works nights and weekends for Partiez Plus, a high-end party planning company. She's horrified when she jumps out of a cake at a bachelor party to discover Jason sitting next to the groom-to-be. Jason has never thought much about his efficient but dowdy assistant outside of work. When he recognizes the beautiful and scantily clad woman emerging from the cake he's horrified and intrigued. Suddenly, he finds himself wanting to keep other men from admiring Claire and help her with her burdens. Being a man of action, though, he can be a little overwhelming however well intentioned. Can Jason and Claire find a balance between independence and helping that leaves room for love? WEEKENDS REQUIRED is an enjoyable old-fashioned boy meets girl romance. Claire is a young, smart woman struggling for her independence and Jason is the successful businessman wanting to rescue the beautiful damsel in distress. The romantic tension comes from Jason learning to care for Claire without controlling her and Claire learning to accept the help that's offered from a place of love and affection. They are surrounded by friends and family who add a nice dash of color and will likely be featured in future books in the Danvers series.

SUMMARY

Claire Walters has worked for Jason Danvers as his assistant for three years, but he never appreciated her as a woman—until the day she jumps out of a cake at his friend's bachelor party… To support her ailing mother, Claire is forced to work a second job at a party planning company. But when her handsome boss ends up with a front-row seat to the action, she’s mortified—and he’s intrigued. With Danvers International in the middle of an important merger, Jason asks Claire to accompany him on weekend business trips—and suddenly all her fantasies are coming true. Her outspoken best friend thinks that getting a little “executive attention” will solve everything. But Claire sees more in Jason than just sex. Jason is determined to know how the beautiful, sexy woman in the cake could also be his mousy assistant. The more time they spend together, the more he realizes how much fun it can be to mix business with pleasure. And how much he wants to offer her a happily-ever-after of her own…
