Romance Contemporary

Sixteen days at the Olympic Winter Games can make or break any competitor's dreams. That's what eight very competitive individuals discover. The dramas performed before the cameras are just as dramatic and explosive as what goes on behind the scenes.

Tess, a seasoned competitor, is coaching Amy, a skater at her first Olympics. Her worries about Amy not being ready are compounded with the bittersweet memories of 18 years earlier when she lost her heart to Andrei, a Russian skater. Now a coach, Andrei wants nothing more than to get close to Tess again and explain his actions from the past. But Tess puts up a wall that will require the strength of his love to tear it down.

Rikki, a biathlon competitor, and Lanny, a member of the U.S. hockey team, meet and begin a whirlwind romance. Their philosophies concerning their sports and life in general puts them at odds with each other. Will their passion last beyond the Olympics?

Kyle and Rob have carried on a tumultuous relationship that began 15 months earlier after they shared one special night. Since then, anger and stubbornness have kept them from realizing their true feelings and coming together as a couple. When Kyle's health is threatened and a painful secret revealed, Rob, as her coach, must first do what is best for the ski team.

Patricia McLinn's THE GAMES is a fast-paced story of very passionate and competitive people who lay it all on the line for victory. Whether it's their first games or the finale, they don't want to give up the only thing they believe matters most. Only when paths are crossed and love is revealed and shared do they finally see that their futures could be as bright and shining as the gold medals they all crave.
