Romance Paranormal

The LORD'S FALL finds Pia Giovanni, half-human/half Wyr, who not long ago was alone and on the run but now finds herself mated to Dragos, a dragon wyr. While he is presiding over the Sentinel Games she is headed for South Carolina to try to repair the treaties that Dragos had broken with the Elven demesne some months earlier. She isn't happy because she is traveling with a group she calls Psychos and the head is Eva. First on the agenda is to let Eva know that as far as she was concerned, Eva was fine as the head of the Wyr Special Forces but as her bodyguard and part of the team trying to repair the damage the psychos needed to know that Pia is the alpha.

Dragos is not happy about Pia going to the High Lord to try to work things out but he has to stay in New York and preside over the Sentinel games, since he was down to five of his seven. Tiago Black Eagle, now mated to the new Dark Fae Queen Niniane, and Rune mated with the vampyre sorceress Carling have left openings. The games would last a week and only seven would survive.

Pia knew this would not be an easy assignment and soon finds the she and the team are in for more than she had ever expected. Her pregnancy, missing her mate, and dealing with things that are just wrong are making for a very bad trip.

LORD'S FALL is a fast paced adventure that thrills with every word. Thea Harrison has a way with words and descriptions that make you feel as if this world is real and you are in the middle of it. I liked how Pia stood up for herself with Eva and with her mate, trying to make sure he knows that they are partners, even if he is overbearing, possessive and irritating. In other words, a total Alpha. I will be looking for the next "The Elder Races" novel by this author as she now has me hooked on this world.

SUMMARY

In the latest Novel of the Elder Races, two mates find themselves on different paths, torn between their duty to the Wyr and the passion that binds them… Before she met Dragos, half-human half-wyr Pia Giovanni was alone and on the run. Now, she’s mated, pregnant and heading south to repair the Wyr’s frayed relationship with the Elves. Being separated from Dragos is painful, but for the good of the Wyr demesne they need to figure out how to be partners, in more places than just the bedroom. In New York to preside over the Sentinel Games, Dragos is worried about his mate, but knows that finding two replacement sentinels is essential to show the rest of the Elder Races just how strong and brutal the Wyr demesne can be. But as the games heat up, Pia’s negotiations with the Elves take a turn for the dangerous, straining her bond with Dragos and threatening everything they hold dear…
