THE CURSE is book 3 of the Belador Series.
The Beladors and VIPER team protect humans from non-humans. Seems easy enough but for the fact that each member of the team is something not quite human. Evalle Kincaid is an Alterant ... she can become a very large beast when she needs to. Picture a female Hulk only not so green or nice. At the moment a number of things are on her plate and she is struggling to do what she has to do to survive. A Goddess will accept Alterants as part of her pantheon, and will protect them, if Evalle can bring them to her and they swear fealty. If she can't do this her fate will not be so pleasant as the tribunal is not real happy with her right now. On top of that there have been Troll led gang wars that the team has had to break up. And of course these aren't your average Trolls, which are bad enough, they are some sort of demonized black op trolls called Svart.
If that wasn't enough, she is involved with Storm, a skinwalker who can turn into one very large jaguar, who doesn't know what she can do and then there is Isak Nyght, a black ops specialist who also has no idea that Evalle is anything but human. The difference between him and Storm is he will most likely kill her if he finds out her secret.
And of course there is Tzader, the Maistir of the Belador, whose most important job is to protect the Warrior Queen Brina, who guards Treoir. He's her boss and friend and Quinn another friend who this time brings in a cousin who is young and trouble. Both know what she is capable of and do their best to protect her.
THE CURSE is fast paced, non-stop action, romance with a mix of real life all rolled into one fantastic read. Evalle is a multifaceted being; on one hand she is the tough biker fighter who knows she can kick butt, on the other she is unsure of herself around others, especially men. Her greatest fear is she will not be accepted for what she is. She doesn't see that those who love her know she has their back and they have hers. I cannot wait for Book 4 to see how the story continues as there are still baddies out there who want to rule the world and VIPER members who will stop them.
