Riley Sinclair runs a successful boutique in Sinclair, GA
specializing in everything a woman could possibly want -- she
basically stocked the boutique with all of the luxuries a
woman could possibly want to surround herself with --
cashmere throws, velour lounging sets, soft leather boots,
bone china, etc. - and it was a huge success. Riley also
owns and runs Southern Hill -- the largest farm in the area.
The one thing missing in Riley's life is a family -- a
husband and children.
Jackson Sinclair is the quintessential good ole boy, the
life of the party. Everybody loves Jackson and they always
expect him to have a ready laugh and smile. Five years ago,
when his marriage with Riley broke up, Jackson left town and
never looked back. He's been traveling around the world on
his yacht, working as a hunting guide, just drifting through
life. Now he's come home and he's ready to reclaim his old
life.
Riley and Jackson have so much unfinished business left
between them, but Riley is not sure she can trust him, or
herself, enough to let him back into her life. Especially
since she has used their frozen embryos and is now pregnant
through IVF. When Jackson finds out Riley got pregnant with
their baby without him, he is more determined than ever to
find a way back into her life and pick up the pieces where
they left off.
THE LIFE OF RILEY is a fun, romantic story about love and
redemption. Ms. Worth has created a wonderfully flawed
leading man with Jackson Sinclair -- he's strong, rugged, and
capable; yet has serious emotional baggage he needs to work
through before he is ready to be the husband and father that
Riley needs. There were times I got very frustrated with
Riley Sinclair, but then I remembered she was pregnant and
probably a bit of a hormonal mess and her actions made much
more sense. All in all, I thought THE LIFE OF RILEY was a
very sweet,
romantic book.
Georgia socialite Riley Sinclair is finally embracing the
life she wants. But the news of her successful embryo
implant pregnancy—her second chance at motherhood—brings her
face-to-face with her ex-husband, Jackson. Fine. She knows
how to handle him most of the time. Too bad the unresolved
passion is complicating matters. Worse, the problems that
pulled them apart are back, too!
Sure, he seems to be handling their relationship
differently. But with all that's gone on between them, can
Riley really believe he's changed his
run-when-things-get-tough habits? Some impressive proof is
certainly required. And when Jackson delivers exactly
that well, Riley might have to say yes!
