DOUBLE SHOTS is Sadie's story. Sadie is the middle Long sibling. She is baker for the Pulled Long Café and likes to nurture everyone. Sadie has had a crush on her friend Paul for 10 years, but has been afraid to let her true feelings be known. When Sadie gets the opportunity to cater a celebration at Mavericks, she finds that by accepting, she is opening herself to many more opportunities, including a passion and love she had only dreamed possible. A SHOT IN THE DARK introduces us to Paige, the oldest of the Long siblings. Paige runs the business end of the Pulled Long Café and puts business ahead of all other things in her life. A bad relationship in the past has caused Paige to put up walls and close herself off from life. A chance meeting with firefighter Carter causes Paige to rethink her priorities. She finally breaks down her walls and opens herself up to love, facing her personal demons along the way. In PULLED LONG we meet Ian Long, the youngest of the Long siblings. Pulled Long Café is Ian's dream and he has put his life on hold as he gets it off the ground. For months Ian carries on a flirtation with a customer he only knows as blue-eyes, Jeff. Then one night, he actually hooks up with the man, taking a risk on making a real connection. Ian and Jeff begin a steamy, wild affair that has the possibility to become so much more if only Ian is willing to take the risk and step outside his comfort zone. THE LONG SHOTS were three great erotic short stories. Not only was there a lot of steamy, no-holds barred sex; but Ms. D'Abo also managed to create a wonderful family unit that you can't help but connect with. She built a lot of depth into each character in such a short space of time. The stories each work as a stand-alone, but are tied together with the siblings. I highly recommend this short story collection.
