Romance Series | Romance

Sammie Gold is recovering from being ripped off emotionally and financially by her ex-boyfriend. Relocating from Boston to Scottsdale, she will open her "Boot Barrage" business where she will be near her best friend Callie Worth to start over. Callie is married to Tagg Worth, brother to Sammie's new partner. The Worth brothers are mega rich and involved in many ventures, including their family ranch. Things could go smoothly for her if she just hadn't gotten drunk in Vegas and slept with her partner Jackson. It really ticks her off that she can't remember a thing about it and that's just shameful when he is the dream every woman wants in her bed.

Jackson's high school love left him in the dust, heartbroken and determined to never lose his heart to a woman again. Women flock around the sexy and dangerously gorgeous man. He enjoys his women albeit without any commitment. Sammie and Jackson are drawn together not only by business but because they are both god parents to Tagg & Callie's new baby son. Determined to fight the attraction, they both do their best to avoid each other. Jackson's old girlfriend returns to town set on having him for herself. Sammie realizes by now she is love with a man that is out of her reach when her attempt to fight for him ends with a confrontation at his apartment and his old girlfriend.

Only too late does Jackson come to terms with the fact that he really has fallen in love with Sammie and intends to have her in his life forever. Persuading her of his sincerity and gaining her trust might be the battle of his life.

For a short story WORTH THE RISK was packed full of adventure, hot sex and a very cute plot. Charlene Sands has a way of keeping readers interest turning pages. I really enjoyed this amusing tale and will continue reading selections from Charlene Sands.
