Legal secretary Charlotte Evans has a sassy encounter with her boss Jake Hamilton at a coffee shop. But he's the boss, which makes him off limits. Not to mention that he's a known womanizer.
Jake has never been drawn to a woman as he is to Charlotte. He's not trying to invite a sexual harassment claim, but the chemistry between them is too much to ignore. He finds himself doing and saying things he would never otherwise do because snaring this determined lady requires him to break all his rules.
CASE FOR SEDUCTION is the first book in The Hamiltons Laws of Love mini-series. Ann Christopher, whose romances are always smart, romantic and fun, doesn't disappoint. Charlotte and Jake make a great match. Charlotte is both legal secretary and law student, more than up to the task of locking horns with Jake Hamilton. She's also a single mother so her decisions are often driven by what's right for her toddler son, Harry. Jake, one of a family of wealthy Hamilton lawyers, ultimately wants more to his life than money can buy. He's got a diva of a mother, one who might remind readers of Diahann Caroll's Dynasty character, Dominique Devereaux. Then there's Charlotte's ex-boyfriend and Harry's father, a surgical resident not unlike Eriq LaSalle's Dr. Benton on another popular television series, ER.
Along with providing a fast-paced yet satisfying read, Christopher does an excellent job of developing her characters and giving enough of a peek into a few of the other Hamilton kin to whet readers' appetites for the books to come.
