Romance Historical

Dougal MacDonnell is a highland warrior who just happens to hear the thoughts of other men and sometimes has prophetic dreams. Dougal, his father, brothers and country men were fighting the English in April 1746. During the heat of battle Dougal tunes out the voices he hears until there is one so very familiar to him. It's his father and he is dying. Dougal fights to get to his father but is unable to save him. The battle is a landslide in favor of the English and Dougal is knocked unconscious. Once awake Dougal can't hear any of his family and he realizes that he is bound and now a prisoner of the English. The journey from Scotland is harrowing. The prisoners are loaded up in the bottom of ships for the travel. They don't see daylight, are barely fed and are living in their filth. Many succumb to illness and death. The farther away from Scotland some men change and one night a few men attempt two rape two young men. Dougal and his new friend John put a stop to it and become their bodyguards. Once they reach the encampment the two young men Aiden and Joseph who are small and wily begin secretly digging a tunnel to escape, they invite Dougal and John to join them. Unfortunately, during the escape only Aiden and Dougal make it. The two journey to London where Aiden sings for their supper and then they continue on until they find a small abandoned cabin where they find a way to begin anew. Both are content and become best friends. Then one quiet day Aiden is attacked and Dougal's reality is shattered. Aiden is not a man? His best friend and companion is a woman? Glenna is terrified when she is revealed to Dougal. It has been hard to keep her secret but she feared Dougal wouldn't let her stay with him if he knew the truth. Each night Glenna has lain next to Dougal and dreamed of being with him as man and woman but now that he knows the truth what will happen? SOUND OF HEART is a captivating and heroic tale of a highlander with a heart the size of a giant. Dougal has endured so much pain and the loss of his family is devastating to him. Dougal has enjoyed his time in their small cabin and has cherished his friend Aiden. In the end can Dougal put aside his feelings about the English to have the life he deserves? What will become of Aiden? How will their lives mesh? These are questions you will have to read to find out. SOUND OF HEART is an amazing tale of adventure and the power of true love.
