you've read an entire novel. I don't know how she does it,
but Ms. Long has mastered the art of the short story -- her
characters leap off the page and she pulls you into the
story so quickly that you are fully invested in the outcome
within a matter of pages. I've read many of the 1NightStand
and Always a Marine stories and always come back for more.
