Juliet Carpenter has been searching for Caleb Leigh to find
answers. She wants to know about his betrayal of her coven,
her family, and their destruction. Meanwhile, Caleb
simultaneously tries to fight his love and lust for Juliet
while wanting to flee from her sight. However, he made a
promise to someone in the midst of tragedy, and he intends
to keep that promise.
Caleb and Juliet have more to deal with than their feelings
for each other. Juliet's been sheltered far more than she
ever knew. She thought the slaughter of her coven
hardened her and her search for Caleb made her tough. She
may be
strong and talented, but they have to band together to beat
their foes. Even then, Caleb tries to shield her from
reality, but how can trust grow within a world of secrets?
ALL THINGS WICKED is an interesting book with some great
urban
fantasy-style twists. In addition, some of the choices move
the plot in different ways than one might expect, so that is
also fun. ALL THINGS WICKED is character and plot-focused,
but the
world-building leads one to desire to read more of the
Dark
Mission novels.
Juliet Carpenter thought of the coven as family, but when
she falls for a man who betrays them all, she’s left alone
and desperately searching for a reason why. Caleb Leigh has
spent the past year in hiding, unable to escape his demons.
When Juliet finds him again, her need for vengeance clashes
with the hunger still burning between them. It’s a fight
born from the embers of a half-forgotten attraction and the
wounds of a past too raw to ignore. With enemies circling
and secrets threatening to consume them, Caleb has no choice
but to fulfill a promise made long ago—protect her, save
her. Even if it costs him his blood, his body . . . and
what’s left of his mind.
