Aidan "Ace" Hart's goal was to start a horse breeding
operation partnering with his mother and the first order of
business was to get that special horse that would be the
foundation for his business. Their family ranch had
financial problems and they had scaled down their operation
to regain their footing. Ace had his eye on a good looking
but rather temperamental, unpredictable horse Midnight, one
he felt could become a valuable stud. He needed to invest
his time in his ranch which didn't leave him any for a
personal life. The Hart's had an interesting relationship
with their neighbors the McKinley's. It had always been a
very fierce competitive rivalry but it now seemed to have
watered down some.
Ace and Flynn McKinley had a long time relationship
beginning as children when Flynn was good friends with
Ace's sister. Then their relationship developed into
something more complicated which obviously didn't fit into
Ace's plans and left Sarah hurt. It was time to make a
change in her life. Her family ranch was going to be sold,
her father retiring and moving, Sarah would have to move
away once again from a town that was home. Her plan was to
become a nurse but there was a slight glitch in that, after
a one nighter with Ace she finds herself pregnant. Mixed
emotions at this discovery leave Sarah having to face some
radical changes in her plans. Everyone knows how close
Sarah and Ace are, most would have thought they'd wind up
together. But not this way.
Sarah wants more than a man who marries her because he is
feeling responsible. This time when she marries she wants
love and companionship. Ace is just not that guy. His life
revolves around his duties as a vet and breeder. She
recognizes that with the birth of this child her life and
Ace's will always have a connection. Sarah and Ace
ironically both long for a family, but Sarah refuses to
settle for less than a life filled with love. So just what
will Sarah do?
Loyalty and responsibility is important in any relationship
but everyone dreams of falling in love and having it
reciprocated. Cathy McDavid does an admiral job in keeping
her characters honest. She spends a great deal of time
showing the development of trust between the rancher and
his prize horse which is endearing and insightful. It makes
for an easy transition to believe that with a little
kindness bridges can be spanned.
AIDAN:LOYAL COWBOY is part of the series Harts of the
Rodeo, and I look forward to another installment.
Aidan "Ace" Hart left Flynn McKinley heartbroken when he put
family duty above her feelings. Then one night, the old
passions were reignited and now Flynn is about to get
something she's always wanted—a child to love.
Ace takes
his responsibilities very seriously. Running Thunder Ranch
and his busy veterinary practice leaves little time for a
personal life. That'll only get worse now that he's spending
every spare minute with Midnight, the champion rodeo
stallion he hopes will save the ranch from financial
disaster.
Flynn refuses to marry Ace and be yet one
more "responsibility" to him. She wants Ace to want
to marry her! And until he admits he loves her, she's
determined to raise her baby alone….
