With the heat in Arizona, Melanie Cooper and Angie DeLaura
are talking about closing Fairy Tale Cupcakes for a couple
of weeks. The only treat selling is ice cream. When Oz
shows up with an old van, they go for a ride. Only to have
it die on the side of the road.
They are rescued by Slim Hazard. His love for cupcakes
leads to an invitation to sell their product at his annual
rodeo in Juniper Pass. Melanie and Angie work hard
preparing for the rodeo. Their partner, Tate, pays for the
van to be restored so they can use it at the rodeo.
The rodeo starts off with a parade and someone tries to
kill
Slim. Slim insists that the rodeo go forward. The demand
for their cupcakes is high. Then someone sabotages their
power. All of the cupcakes are thawed and won't last until
the rodeo ends.
With the help of the Hazard family, Melanie turns all the
remaining cupcakes into cake pops which prove to be
immensely popular with the crowds.
When Melanie and Angie find the body of champion bull
rider,
Ty Stokes, they will be drawn into the investigation. Mel
has a hard time letting go despite all the warnings from
friends and family as she sees several of her employees
become prime suspects.
RED VELVET REVENGE was a delight to read and salivate
over.

It may be summertime, but sales at Fairy Tale Cupcakes are below zero--and owners Melanie Cooper and Angie DeLaura are willing to try anything to heat things up. So when local legend Slim Hazard offers them the chance to sell cupcakes at the annual Juniper Pass rodeo, they're determined to rope in a pretty payday! But not everyone at the Juniper Pass is as sweet for Fairy Tale Cupcakes as Slim--including star bull-rider Ty Stokes. Mel and Angie try to steer clear of the cowboy's short fuse, but when his dead body is found face down in the hay, it's a whole different rodeo. With a vengeful murderer on the loose, the ladies are quickly realizing that while they came to save their business, they may have to save themselves--and that's no bull. INCLUDES SCRUMPTIOUS RECIPES
Now, this sounds like a good mystery. I'm curious to know if the cupcakes poisoned Ty. If he had a short fuse, perhaps he "deserved" it. ;-) I have to read this to see what happened! (Connie Fischer 12:25pm July 21, 2012)
