Ambitious over-achiever, Victoria Holmes, a PR Executive with Coleman PR, is driven to exceed her mother's reputation in the business world. Extremely competitive and driven she is invited to a house party at the esteemed Rutherford Estate in hopes of winning the contract for advertising for the Rutherford Securities new safe.

Arriving at the beach estate, Victoria is upset to find a co-worker has also been invited to contend for the contract. This is Victoria's dream; to win the promotion through the Rutherford contract and move to the prestigious "corner" office.

Jared McKenna is attending the Rutherford house party because he genuinely likes Richard's mother Rose, and not because he IS hired as activity director. He chooses to keep the fact that he is extremely rich and is, in fact, owner of Flaming Arrow Adventure. Immediate sexual attraction develops between Victoria & Jared.

Rose's valuable necklace is stolen from the "safe" safe and Victoria is appointed the investigator rather than calling in the police and revealing the embarrassment of his safe's failure. Rose Coerces Jared into secretly helping her but their meetings always culminate in hot boiling sex. With the last few day of the party coming to an end neither Jared nor Victoria are ready to face going their separate ways or to admit they are falling for each other.

I found BREATHLESS ON THE BEACH to be highly amusing with Victoria, her two friends and Jared playing detective and attempting to solve the mystery. The cat and mouse games between Jared and Victoria are clever and will definitely keep you chuckling and waiting for the next trap to spring. Jared is every woman's dream; rich, sexy and highly entertaining as well as heart pounding gorgeous. Wendy Etherington has created a very amusing and mysterious plot where the necklace isn't the only thing revealed. BREATHLESS ON THE BEACH is a definite read that left me "breathless"!
