Madrene Olgadottir has had to rely on her wits for a long
time, so when she is captured by Lieutenant Ian MacLean, she
knows exactly how to respond: with cool violence and a clear
head, not to mention a particular "trick" she has developed
to use against arrogant men who think they can get her to
comply. She is determined to get back to her home to save
her people. She is strong and willing to risk everything to
stage a revolt against the tyrant who holds her people
prisoner. She thinks Ian is the perfect warrior capable of
helping and plans to ensure he does so. However, Madrene is
unaware of one little detail: she's centuries in the future,
trying to force a Navy SEAL to do her will, even though he
believes she is the woman he has been sent to capture for
information against a tyrant from his own time.
HOT AND HEAVY is just so well written and fun. Readers who
like Sandra Hill's other works will love HOT AND HEAVY, and
newcomers will rush out to buy the rest of her works, though
HOT AND HEAVY l is successful on its own. Madrene is
brilliantly crafted; she never comes off as weak, simpering,
or foolish, moods even the strongest protagonists sometimes
fall into. In addition, the humor adds much to the
situation; sure, HOT AND HEAVY is a delightful romance, but
the touching humor makes this work stand out from other
delightful romances with good characterization.
In and out . . . That’s Lieutenant Ian MacLean’s goal. The
leader of a team of highly trained Navy SEALs— the toughest,
buffest fighting men in the world— the sexy, hard-as-nails
bachelor has the brains, guts, and brawn to outthink,
outgun, and outmaneuver any enemy. But dealing with a buxom,
headstrong, iron-willed Viking maiden from a time a thousand
years before Ian was born . . . that’s a whole different
kind of warfare. Madrene Olgadottir has no idea where she is
or that she’s landed ten centuries in the future. After
bopping the arrogant soldier on his head and tying him up,
the stunning hellion gives him a tongue lashing that makes a
drill sergeant sound like a kindergarten teacher. Then she
demonstrates that she has her own special way of dealing
with overconfident males. Hoo-yah, it looks like Operation
Rodent is about to get . . . Hot & Heavy
