Evelyn Hadley-Attwater once worked for a secret department run by a man she only knew as "Sir". When his replacement comes to her two years after her retirement, asking for her help, she finds it hard to refuse. Her husband is just what she always longed for, safe, wealthy, and loving. The man who took over when "Sir" retired has made it impossible for her to refuse his request. With her attention scattered and her behavior erratic, Adrian starts wondering if their life has become to predictable.

As Adrian starts to follow Evelyn, he becomes convinced that she is having an affair. When that supposition turns out to be false, he contacts his replacement at the office and learns what she is up to. His next thought is that she is bored with her life and so he sets out to offer her an alternative.

Ms. Alexander has written an entertaining, interesting story about a couple who is already married but must rediscover their faith in each other. Filled with surprises and unexpected twists, MY WICKED LITTLE LIES is a lot of fun to read.
