Looking for a romance that is packed with action? Captain Tanaka must face his past and his fears to attempt to stop a terrorist-ridden boat into extinction. His target? Jolynn, the mobster's very own daughter. Jolynn knows that her father isn't the kind most girls have. Her greatest regret and sadness stems from the death of her uncle - a death due to her father's "business." Jolynn herself is not exactly loved by her father. Captain Tanaka may find that his prime target may be at risk herself. Now he must battle with his own moral compass to decide whether to help the fleeing woman or use her to hopefully catch her father.

Jolynn's character is fun to get to know. She doesn't appear to have any innate "killing instinct." Captain Tanaka is brave and prepared to put himself last in dangerous situations. The reader will love following their trials and escapes during the novel. The reader will be biting their fingernails when it comes time for Captain Tanaka to reveal himself to Jolynn as to his true job in her life. The other characters range from the very scary to the slightly comical, the reader will still enjoy meeting them all.

The plot was fast-paced and PROTECTOR has plenty of action packed into its pages. If you are reader who enjoys romance, but doesn't necessarily like it to be the primary plot, this book would be perfect for you.
