Romance

Have I mentioned I'm a huge fan of Deveraux, Remembrance and A Knight in Shining Armor stand out as two of my favorites. Deveraux always infuses her stories with a touch of magic -- sometimes taking us on a voyage back in time or as in this story to a place that seems lost in time -- magical. If you are looking for a romance replete with wit, passion, a bit of fairy dust then you need look no further than MIDNIGHT IN THE MORNING.

Falling in love should be a happy time full of wonder and passion; Tristan and Jecca have that in spades. Tristan has held a vision of a younger Jecca in his heart and mind for many years, wondering how their one, rather inauspicious, meeting so affected him that no one could ever measure up.

His dates were inevitably disappointing as one after another woman seemed more interested in his being a rather gorgeous doctor than Tristan the man. And he was so much more. His cousin Kim, Jecca's good friend, was always on his case about not working harder to develop relationships. But not until Jecca comes to Edilean for a long summer visit does Tristan begin to see what Kim meant -- and he is not about to make that mistake again. Tristan is out to make headway with Jecca in the short time he has. Problem is Jecca's long time fascination with Tristan's brother Reed. He is sure Reed is the wrong man and he is absolutely the right one considering the sparks between himself and Jecca.

But the biggest challenge is how to bridge a rather formidable roadblock in their relationship -- distance. Tristan's home is Edilean and Jecca's is a big city girl and even though she has to honestly acknowledge her growing feelings for Tristan -- her first consideration is her inauspicious art career.

Tristan uses all his imagination to keep Jecca's mind, body and heart focused on him by immersing her in an almost magical romantic liaison with a single goal to ultimately realize that what they have together is too special to ignore. And when you have something so unique there has to be a way to make it work. Edilean is filled with wonderful people who open their arms and hearts to newcomer Jecca. And Jecca is learning that leaving Edilean and Tristan will certainly break her heart but if she doesn't she will never know whether she has any real talent as an artist. It's going to take courage to decide where her future lies and if there is one thing we learn about Jecca she's a gutsy lady equally at home with paints and an easel and repairing a chainsaw. Tristan is up to the challenge even if means conquering seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
