Judith Graber is the one in the family who everyone depends on, and with good reason. She is faithful, loyal and a hard worker. She loves her family, but she also longs to start a life of her own, and a family of her own as well. But until the right time comes, she contents herself to working in the family store and waiting for Mr. Right to come along. Little does she know that Mr. Right turns out to be someone she considered to be Mr. Wrong for so long!
Ben Knox had quite a reputation for being a wild boy before he left Sugarcreek to explore options for his life. But now he's back, grown up and more mature, and surprisingly ready to settle down and take responsibility for his life. But when he meets up with Judith, he finds that he has to prove himself to her before she will take his admiration seriously.
As the two work through their feelings for each other, the Christmas season soon proves to be the perfect time for finding and falling in love.
This is a very sweet story that encompasses the love of family, the love of faith, and a good bit of gentle romance as well. I enjoyed how Shelley Gray brings out the struggle that her main characters have with their feelings for each other, and how they consider their families and community as they quietly fall in love with each other.
CHRISTMAS IN SUGARCREEK is the fourth book in Shelley's Sugarcreek series, but it can be read as a stand alone novel. I plan to go back and pick up on the previous three books to visit the families of Sugarcreek once again!
