Chloe knows she has intimacy issues. As outgoing as she may
seem, there is still a part of her self she keeps well
protected. She may try to ignore the attraction that has
developed between her and Sheriff Sawyer Thompson but every
time they are in each other's presence there is something
that brings them together. Even though she wants to ignore
it, she does not the fact that seems to be doing the same.
Sawyer is aware of Chloe, who has an innate ability to rile
his nerves and ratchet his blood pressure with her mere
presence, but there is no way Sawyer is going to act on
their attraction. He has grown out of the wild youth he once
was and with the help of people in the community who care
for him, he has made something of himself. Unlike Chloe,
Sawyer has firm roots and isn't ready to sacrifice being
hurt by a decidedly luscious young woman who may just be
passing through. But staying away is getting more difficult.
If truth be told, his habit of stopping in to the sisters
B&B for his morning coffee is suspiciously looking like an
opportunity to run into Chloe.
It is becoming more obvious that Sawyer is coming to mean
more to her than she cares to admit. But the big question is
whether she can face down her fears of intimacy and allow
this caring man to show her what love is all about.
HEAD OVER HEALS is a keeper and a book that will be dog-
eared from re-reading over and over again. The wonderful
sense of humor and wittiness found though out the story will
have the reader laughing as they turn the pages. Shavis has
a natural flair for dealing with issues that don't
necessarily define the characters but somehow make them all
the more real.
Free-spirited Chloe lives life on the edge. Unlike her soon-
to-be married sisters, she isn't ready to settle into a
quiet life running their family's newly renovated inn. But
soon her love of trouble—and trouble with love-draws the
attention of the very stern, very sexy sheriff who'd like
nothing better than to tame her wild ways.
Suddenly Chloe can't take a misstep without the sheriff hot
on her heels. His rugged swagger and his enigmatic smile
are enough to make a girl beg to be handcuffed. For the
first time, instead of avoiding the law, Chloe dreams of
surrender. Can this rebel find a way to keep the peace with
the straitlaced sheriff? Or will Chloe's colorful past keep
her from a love that lasts . . . and the safe haven she
truly wants in a town called Lucky Harbor?
