MISTLETOE WISHES contains a trio of sweet, some-what old-fashioned, romances about unexpected love and second chances between a beautiful every-girl and a handsome billionaire whose a little lost. If you're looking to curl up in front of the fire with a book to get you in the holiday spirit, MISTLETOE WISHES is a good choice.
While all the stories were enjoyable, I must say my favorite was Jane Porter's One Christmas Night in Venice. After years of mourning her husband and son, and recovering from the injuries she sustained in the accident that killed them, Diane has returned to Italy to remember and say goodbye. She buys a ticket to a masquerade ball held in her husband's home. She is stunned to see him across the ballroom. He is equally stunned to discover that the wife he has mourned is still alive. They quickly begin to uncover the truth and wonder if they can find their way back to each other in spite of how the years of have changed them. This novella was rich with emotion. Grief, guilt, love and hope are palpable as Diane and Dom try to come to terms with the reality of their unexpected reunion.
