In this steamy Highlander novel, the reader will get to know two intriguing characters, Keeley and Alaric. Alaric has been promised to Rionna McDonald. When he stumbles upon Keeley, wounded, his attraction to her comes as a complete surprise. Keeley's healing abilities save his life and she is taken, quite forefully, into the McCabe household. This leaves Alaric with a bit of a dilemma, however; he doesn't know what to do about his newfound attraction to a woman he can't have.
Keeley had a sweet character. She was certainly compassionate, brave, and somewhat outspoken. The reader will like her instantly. She had been forced out of her own clan by the crude father of Rionna. Alaric, for one of those "conquer everything" types, was actually kind. He was charismatic, handsome, and decidedly arrogant at times. The reader will love following their relationship through the normal ups and downs and when Alaric has to make a huge decision regarding his future bride.
This book will appeal to any reader who enjoys romance, specifically of the Highlander type. The characters were fun to read about, the plot was intriguing, and the ending was perfect.
An outcast from her own clan, Keeley McDonald was
betrayed by those she loved and trusted. When the wounded
warrior falls from his horse, she is drawn to his strong,
lean body. The wicked glint in his green eyes ignites a
passion that will follow them back to Alaricโs keep, where
their forbidden love draws them deeper into the pleasures of
the flesh. But as conspiracy and danger circle closer,
Alaric must make an impossible choice: Will he betray his
blood ties for the woman he loves?
