Sophie is getting into the Halloween season in a big way,
both with her column and the town Haunted House. There are
mysterious goings on in the house they have selected for the
project. As always, Sophie is in conflict with her rival
Natasha who is planning a spectacular Halloween party.
When Sophie arrives at the party to find one guest dead on
the lawn and a vampire fleeing the scene, life becomes
hectic. There have always been rumors that a vampire lived
in the boarding house that is now being used as their
Haunted House. Is that vampire still in the area having
killed for his latest meal? As Sophie's boyfriend, Wolf,
investigates, Sophie will investigate as well. After all,
one of the suspects is a student involved in the project and
she must do all she can to protect him and the Haunted
House.
A cool head and a talent for finding the truth will lead
Sophie to the identity of the killer and solve several
mysteries at the same time. As Sophie deals with her niece,
her boyfriend, and her ex-husband, there will be lots of
scary events happening.
This well-written story will keep the reader engrossed from
start to finish with some entertaining tricks being played
on unsuspecting townspeople. Ms. Davis has done a good job
of keeping the series fresh and exciting.
