Now, she's kidnapped and re-kidnapped, all the while explaining that she isn't a Charmer, that her original boss is mistaken about "the Betrayer's" evil, and that everything she ever learned from popular culture about vampires is wrong! She and Adrian are on a race to save what Nell thinks is his sweet young nephew, and she wants to try to unwind the curse that has held Adrian in thrall to a demon since his childhood. Obviously, a Charmer-Dark One romance must occur!

Katie MacAlister is hysterical, and all of her works feature amusing and suspenseful situations that are underscored by her female protagonist's amusing turn of phrase. A fast read, this work demonstrates that you just never know who you can trust, even when you trust people to do their worst.
