Nell Harris says she is no longer a Charmer ever since a
horrible Charm-related accident had major ramifications.
However, she is hired as a Charmer despite her protests.
Then, in a strange case of mistaken identity, she ends up
chattering away, not to the expected family member of the
boss, but to "the Betrayer," Adrian Tomas. Now, she's
kidnapped and re-kidnapped, all the while explaining that
she isn't a Charmer, that her original boss is mistaken
about "the Betrayer's" evil, and that everything she ever
learned from popular culture about vampires is wrong! She
and Adrian are on a race to save what Nell thinks is his
sweet young nephew, and she wants to try to unwind the
curse that has held Adrian in thrall to a demon since his
childhood. Obviously, a Charmer-Dark One romance must
occur!
Katie MacAlister is hysterical, and all of her works
feature amusing and suspenseful situations that are
underscored by her female protagonist's amusing turn of
phrase. A fast read, this work demonstrates that you just
never know who you can trust, even when you trust people to
do their worst.
Are you responsible for lifting a centuries-old curse from
the sexiest vampire you’ve ever seen?
Does a demon lord want to destroy you?
Have you somehow inadvertently bound several mummies to
your soul?
Are you the last hope for a lost little boy?
If you’ve answered “yes” to any of the above . . . you’re
in big trouble!
Those are a few of the problems facing Nell Harris, a real
charmer—no, really . . . a real Charmer—once she hooks up
with Adrian Tomas. A devastatingly hot Dark One who’s
earned the unfortunate title “the Betrayer” for selling
out his own kind to a very nasty demon, Adrian needs Nell
in the worst way. Though she’d be way better off keeping
her distance, Nell can’t help but find this tormented,
undead Betrayer dude just a little too tempting. And this
time her penchant for bad boys might cost her more than
her heart . . . but her immortal soul as well!
