Paranormal Romance | Fantasy

Bryan Lankford, known to many readers as a professor at the Tulsa House of Night, was once a mischievous teen. He is constantly in trouble and finding his way out of it; eventually, his father gets fed up with him and banishes him to America. Just before his departure, Bryan gets himself into another bit of trouble-- he is Marked and decides to become a Dragon. He begins training as a fledgling, picking Sword Master as his choice of profession. Anastasia is a professor at the school. It does not take long for the two to fall in love. He actually tries to make himself into the type of person he believes she would like. There is always some sort of danger going on in the House of Night books, this one is no exception...the reader will like the change of pace, the book is much faster after the real action starts. This book allows the reader some insight into Dragon's character. He is impulsive, somewhat childish, and amusing. Anastasia is the perfect foil for Dragon. She is much calmer, studious, and strict with herself. These two characters are the focus of the novel. Overall, the novel was ok. The House of Night series can be tiring with the vocabulary utilized solely for these books- the reader is on his/her own when it comes to understanding some of the meanings behind the words. The plot was ok, learning more about Dragon's character with a hint of danger thrown in for good measure. The events were fast-paced for the most part. This book is a quick read, only ~140 pages. This book is definitely recommended for those who have read and enjoyed the House of Night series.

Though his uncanny fighting skills make him a powerful fledgling, is he strong enough to ward off evil, while protecting Anastasia as well? Will his choices save heror destroy them all?
