Drina Argenis has been sent to babysit and guard a teenage
vampire, so she won't get hurt or captured, and also so she
won't decide to run away to see her family, whose memories
of her and her sister have been altered. However, Stephanie
has amazing mental powers and can read everyone's minds,
even those who are not lifemated and projecting their
thoughts. To keep from perishing from boredom, Stephanie
decides it is her current mission to help Drina trick
Harper Stoyan into dating Drina. However, Harper isn't
looking for a lifemate; he already lost one during the
transformation process from human to vampire.
In her usual
funny, sexy, and warmly-wonderful style, Lynsay Sands does
an excellent job providing quick exposition for new readers
and developing plot lines for those familiar with the
Argeneau vampires. A great book, THE RELUCTANT VAMPIRE is
another fantastic novel with fabulous character interaction
and interesting plot development.
Harper lost his lifemate, Jenny, during her turn and has blamed himself for her death ever since, so he's rather happy for the distraction when Tiny and Mirabeau arrive with a young immortal in tow. Stephanie McGill is a young newly turned, immortal who is being hunted by a mad no-fanger named Leonius. When Anders and Drina Argenis (Argeneau) arrive to help, Harper finds himself working with the beautiful young Spanish woman. But things get interesting when Stephanie decides to take on the role of cupid and bring Drina and a reluctant Harper together. How much trouble could a newly turned teenage vamp be?
