For Kendall Holbrook, racing is more than a dream come
true, it means everything to her. Being the only female in
a male dominated field is not the only reason for keeping
to herself. Kendall gave her heart to rival Evan Monroe
when they were teenagers and he trampled over her feelings
or so she believes. Racing is a small community yet
Kendall has no problems avoiding Evan until her best friend
gets the two of them together to hash out their differences
so they can move on with their lives. Evan never
understood what happened between them but he is having a
lousy year on the track, and if he doesn't get himself
together he'll begin to lose sponsors. So far, nothing has
worked to erase Kendall from his mind so he figures he'll
give this showdown a chance. Neither Kendall nor Evan
counted on old feelings being revived or how these flames
will force one of them to make a choice between the finish
line and love.
I loved THE CHASE. This contemporary romance is both sweet
and sexy with a host of characters that are like everyday
people. I really enjoyed how the author resolves the
conflicts between the hero and the heroine. Ms. McCarthy
did not allow misunderstandings to drag on indefinitely
because of a lack of communication. She resolved the
issues within a reasonable amount of time leaving more time
for romance and mayhem among the diverse set of
characters. This is the first book I've read in the Fast
Track series but it won't be the last. I am already on the
lookout for the previous books. A thoroughly entertaining
romance from start to finish with just the right amounts of
humor, angst, and action.
When racing for the checkered flag...
Kendall Holbrook is determined to make it to the top, even
with the challenge of being a woman o the male-dominated
racing circuit. She doesn't have time for romance -
especially not with racing rival Evan Monroe, the man who
nearly crushed her dream years ago. Forced into meeting up
with him, Kendall is experiencing all those old feelings
again - and she can't deny that they still have more than
enough chemistry to set fire to the track.
...expect a few speed bumps.
After getting dropped by his biggest sponsor, Evan is
watching his racing season go up in flames. Now, the only
replacement available is completely humiliating: a co-
sponsorship for his-and-her deodorant with Kendall
Holbrook - the girl who once broke his heart. Acting like
Kendall doesn't still get him all hot and bothered is bad
enough, but the biggest challenge awaits him on the track -
where Evan has to decide if a second chance at love is
more important than making it to the finish line...
