Agent Kendall Frazier is not happy about attending therapy
sessions, even if they are on a tropical island. Kendall
doesn't want to face her issues following the death of her
partner nor does she want to face the man responsible for
his death. Kendall's partner was shot and killed during a
drug bust gone bad by another agent in what they call
"friendly fire." Kendall is more than willing to sit in a
group and listen to others get in touch with their feelings
as long as she gets beach time. Kendall is not sure
what to expect, the biggest surprise is Zane Vincent
himself, the agent responsible for killing her partner, and
all of the conflicting feelings Kendall has for the handsome
agent.
Agent Zane Vincent understands the necessity for
department-regulated therapy sessions. Though the
"friendly fire" shooting is declared an accident, Zane's
guilt about shooting and killing a fellow law enforcement
agent is tearing him apart. The only bonus of therapy is
the location; a topical island paradise. The location
itself is enough to sooth his soul but the glares from Agent
Kendall Frazier are enough to undo him all over again, well
that and the red hot attraction he feels when ever Kendall
is anywhere near him. Unfortunately, the fact that he
killed her partner keeps distance between them until fate
and a well meaning therapist dive into their business and
help them heal.
I love Megan Hart, I would have loved to see this novella
as a full book but regardless FRIENDLY FIRE is steamy, hot,
emotionally gripping page turner.
After Agent Kendall Frasier's partner is shot in "friendly
fire" during a drug bust, she agrees to take a week's
vacation on a tropical island as part of her psychiatric
evaluation. Sand, sun, sea-what could be better to help her
work through her guilt? Even if the presence of the man
responsible for the shooting, Agent Zane Vincent, seems
counterproductive to her mental health.
As Kendall gets to know Zane, and realizes he feels worse
about what happened than she does, it becomes impossible to
hate him. And their mutual attraction becomes impossible to
deny.
Kendall and Zane soon agree to put the event that brought
them together in the past-and spend the present exploring
their most erotic desires. Do they have a future in the
real world when their week in paradise is over?
