Putting two highly trained SDF (Special Defense Force) operatives on security detail for an art auction benefit at the Denver Botanical Gardens doesn't seem the sort of job this elite team should be handling. But the powers-that-be have ordered Christian Hawkins and Dylan Hart removed from South America following a failed mission and assigned to the "garden party." Hawkins becomes even more resentful of the posh assignment when he sees a vision from his past -- Katya "Bad Luck" Dekker -- in attendance.

Having grown up the daughter of Senator Marilyn Dekker, Katya wants nothing to do with politics. Kat has devoted herself to her art dealership business in LA, but she's now returning to Denver to open a new gallery. This auction is perfect publicity for her. Kat is shocked to see Hawkins in the elite, well-dressed crowd. Her past association with this man is something she doesn't want to confront, but then neither does he. When an attempt is made on Kat's life at the event, Hawkins rescues her and then is ordered to become her bodyguard. Not exactly what he wants -- close proximity to the hot, sexy lady he can't seem to forget or keep his hands off.

Now, they have no choice but to deal with their unresolved emotional past and come to terms with what happened between them 13 years ago. It's something that changed both of their lives dramatically and shaped them into the people they are today. As they deal with the rekindling of strong sexual feelings hot enough to burst into flame, Hawkins has to keep his cool and try to figure out who wants Kat dead.

Wow, I really enjoyed Kat and Hawkins' story. This second book in Janzen's Crazy series is just as fast, furious, sexy, suspenseful and well-written as the first one -- CRAZY HOT (October) -- with characters who leap off the pages. Janzen also catches up with what's going on with the rest of the SDF team, which makes me anxious for the next installment -- CRAZY WILD -- set for release next spring. Bring on more of those SDF operatives!
