After being kissed by a naked and furry pseudo-Neanderthal,
Maddy has no intention of getting closer to the scorchingly
disheveled William Killkenny. However, after being dared to
do so by her recently married best friend, Eve Gregor, as
well as constantly cornered by the patients at the home for
the elderly where she is a nurse, Maddy can't help but give
him a second (clothed) chance.
Maddy's best friend likes William, her patients admire him
for the respect he gives them and her warrior cousin
understands him. Maddy is glad someone seems to understand
what's going on: with extremely localized storms, vicious
monster-wolves, dragon-sightings and reports of mermaids in
the bay, a series of strange events keeps happening. What's
odd is that all of these crazy things only started
occurring after Eve's husband, Kenzie, arrived in the area.
However, William's old-fashioned ideas about courting tend
to distract Maddy from even the most unusual
situations...until she realizes that William himself, a
former dragon, is an unusual situation.
The work is as funny and steamy as can be expected from
Chapman; the idea of a time-traveling warrior who used to
be a dragon "courting" a modern woman is well-executed!
William Killkenny finally broke the curse place on him by a
medieval witch by opening his heart in Moonlight Warrior.
Now, the sexy, ninth-century Irish warrior finds himself
facing a new challenge in the twenty-first century - wooing
the beautiful, outspoken, and provocative Madeline Kimble.
Maddy want nothing to do with the arrogant lout, but when
William proves to be her knight in shining armor by helping
with her rebellious teenage brother and nine-year-old
daughter, Maddy has to reconsider.
Something unsettles her, though, as William becomes involved
in strange happenings in Midnight Bay. Can William prove
he's not responsible and get Maddy to trust his love?
