Sarah Collier is your typical teenage girl, slightly
overweight with a mouthful of braces. The child of two
famous heart surgeons who rarely have time for their
daughter, Sarah looks forward to spending her Christmas and
summer breaks with her loving Grandma in Twilight, Texas.
Of course, the hot and sexy boy-next-door Travis Walker
makes her visits all the more special. With each year, she
fantasizes about a future which she hopes will include
marrying her one true love.
Just when her life seems to be heading in the right
direction, Sarah discovers that her beloved heartthrob is
on his way down the aisle with another girl. With her heart
pounding, she dashes off to the church to profess her
undying love to the man of her dreams. What she finds is a
room full of people in utter dismay as this naive fifteen-
year-old makes the biggest mistake of her life.
Fast-forward nine years. The once immature Sarah
Collier is now making waves as the famous children's author,
Sadie Cool. When a sick young fan makes a special request to
have Sadie come visit her, Sarah winds up returning home to
Twilight. Upon her arrival, she discovers the sick child is
the daughter of her childhood crush, Travis Walker.
Travis Walker used to be the man about town. That was,
until he became a husband and a father. Who knew that his
darling baby girl would become very sick and that his
blushing bride would skip out on him? Never would he have
imagined that the woman who holds the key to his daughter's
heart would be Sarah Collier, the freckly teenage girl who
once professed her love for him. Will the tables now be
turned? Will this woman end up being his dream come true
after all these years?
THE FIRST LOVE COOKIE CLUB is a heartfelt, feel-good story
by the accomplished romance writer Lori Wilde. Superbly
written with a surprise twist at the end, Wilde bakes a
delicious Christmas treat.
SUMMARY
"On Christmas Eve, if you sleep with kismet cookies under
your pillow and dream of your one true love, he will be your
destiny."
The towns folk of Twilight, Texas, believe the legend, but
not Sarah Collier—not since she was a pudgy teenager,
running down the church aisle on Christmas Day in a jingle
bell sweater and reindeer antlers, trying to stop Travis
Walker from marrying someone else. She may be grown up,
slimmed down, bestselling children's book author "Sadie
Cool" now, but Sarah will never forget that day. And she'll
never fall foolishly in love again!
But when a letter from a sick fan brings Sarah back to
Twilight, she's shocked to discover that Travis is the
little girl's father—unattached and hotter than ever. His
movie-star smile still makes her melt, but Sarah knows that
ship has sailed. Travis, however, might have different
ideas.
And just because you don’t believe in fairy tales doesn't
mean they won't come true...

I TOO LOVED IT AND WILL DEFINITELY BUY IT. (Linda Bass 12:18pm September 13, 2010)
This sounds like such a great story. I'm a sucker for that ill-fated childhood romance that pulls a reversal down the road and gives the now-adults a second chance at love. With the holidays right around the corner, this sounds like the perfect type of romance to snuggle up with. Plus, since it's Lori Wilde, I know I'll enjoy it as much as I have all her other books. Can't wait! (Julie Harrington 12:18pm September 13, 2010)
This sounds like another heartwarming story from Lori. It is exactly the type of book that I like to read during the Christmas season. Just looking at the cover makes me wish it was Christmas right now! I also recommend the first 2 books in this series: THE SWEETHEART'S KNITTING CLUB and THE TRUE LOVE QUILTING CLUB. (Cheryl Castings 12:32pm September 13, 2010)
sounds like a very good book I am really looking forward to it coming out. Love that cover. :-) (Larena Hubble 12:56pm September 13, 2010)
See the thing is that Lori Wilde has this keen insight into blending reality with fiction, and coming out with a very believable story. I have pre-ordered this one already, and simply cannot wait to see what else is happening in Twlight Texas. Who among us has not gone out on a limb to profess our affections at a pivotal moment in our lives, only to have that deja vu feeling when realizing just how incredibly small our world is in all actuality. Perhaps there's actually something to be said for "x" steps to Kevin Bacon in connectivity. That would be an interesting story line to explore, but with a different hero or heroine series of course. This looks to be yet another winner for Lori. I'm proud of all she has and continues to accomplish, and all to our delight too! Looking forward to this next yummy read.
