Eight times a widow, Teresa Amelia Loudenberry (known as
Toots) is a disgustingly rich senior citizen who is
attempting to renovate her $3.8 million beach house at
Malibu. Her action is driven by the need to be close to her
daughter, Abby Simpson, who is now editor of the tabloid
Informer. The tabloid is another of Toots's newly
acquired interests, unbeknownst to her daughter. Toots'
three best friends, Ida, Mavis and Sophie, are also Abby's
godmothers and are invited to visit her beach home.
Each woman comes with their own set of past experiences
they are endeavoring to deal with and to heal from.
Supernatural awakenings are happening in the master
bedroom, which causes the four women to perform séances.
Confronting the celebrity ghosts begins a new phenomenon
for all the women. Abby, struggling to compete with the
more popular tabloids, is hoping to find that "exclusive"
story that will put her in strong contention with the
others. These extraordinary women are not the usual "fairy
godmothers" as they draw closer together while subjected to
blackmail and spiritual beings.
EXCLUSIVE is another phenomenon in the Godmothers series. A
very captivating and mysterious tale, it is adventuresome
and exciting to read. The women are funny, witty and
completely portray the "real" woman out there. The
camaraderie between the women makes for a most interesting
story of which I hope to have the privilege of reading the
complete series.
