Romance Suspense

For ex-Senator's wife Dr. Daphne Barrett life is completely different than what she always dreamed. Daphne's ex-husband ruined that for her with his extramarital affairs, leaving her a single mother with teenage boys and few options. Needing to find a purpose, she joins Doctors Across Water, which is why she is now on a freighter heading to Somalia to use her knowledge in medicine to cure the sick and ailing children. But the Indian Ocean off the coast of Somalia is plagued with pirates commandeering freighters and ransoming the passengers and the ships for millions of dollars. Daphne thinks she will never feel connected to another man until she meets the ship's captain.

J.P. Lazarus is part of the Savage Seven, a group of mercenaries for hire who use their unique skills to help those who hire them. J.P.'s recent mission is to capture the pirates seizing freighters and demanding ransom in the Indian Ocean. Pirates are not good for his clients' business, so J.P is currently playing captain to lure his prey into taking his ship. At the last port, J.P has taken on a group of doctors as passengers, which only complicates his situation. But it's the beautiful Dr. Barrett who threatens his focus on getting the job done. J.P's conversation with the illustrious doctor has him believing he has found the woman of his dreams. Unfortunately, the serious threat of pirates comes to his deck, putting J.P's men and the doctors in serious danger.

This is the second book in the Savage Seven series. The characters are strong, yet vulnerable, with chemistry that burns the pages. A great read!

SUMMARY

J.P. Lazarus is an ex-Navy Seal who's parlayed his technical expertise into a lucrative and dangerous career. Laz has never lost any sleep over his choices, but then again, he's never met anyone like Dr. Daphne Bennett. She saves lives; he takes them. He changes his persona with every mission; she's straight as an arrow. His latest assignment-setting a trap for Somalian pirates-was risky before, but with the doctor on board his tanker, it's a matter of life, death, and off-the-charts desire...

Working in Africa for a summer seemed like a good way for Daphne to regroup after her divorce. But when her vessel is hijacked, Daphne's status as a senator's ex-wife makes her a perfect target for ransom. If there's one man equipped to protect her, it's Laz. But the more she learns about him, the more questions arise-about the secrets he's hiding, the chemistry that feels too good to fight, and a future that neither of them can take for granted...
