The second installment of Vicki Lewis Thompson's Son's of Chance series, AMBUSHED features Gabe Chance and Morgan O'Connelli.
Gabe is the youngest of the current generation of Chance men, and has wandering feet. He competes in competitions in which he highlights the horses from the Last Chance Ranch. He has a very high goal in mind...getting his horse into the Hall of Fame when his oldest brother Jack decides that he will no longer finance the entry fees for the competitions he needs.
Gabe is understandably upset at being forced into early retirement, but is Jack being fair?
Morgan O'Connelli is coming back to town after a long absence. She is trying to get her fledgling real estate business started, and believes that there is no better way to advertise her enterprise than to ride a rented horse in the annual Fourth Of July parade. Only problem...she's not that experienced a rider, and the horse she has rented is a little to wild for her.
Riding to the rescue is Gabe Chance who offers to trade horses with her. She tries to resist afraid of what his family's reaction is going to be, but he insists, and from there the beginning there is a strong attraction.
Will Gabe get his chance to ride Top Drawer to the ultimate fame, and will his family be able to accept Morgan without thinking she's after the ranch for her business? Read AMBUSHED for yourselves to find out the answer to this and many other interesting questions.
Don't forget next month brings the conclusion to this fun trilogy, and we just might get to see the high and mighty Jack get taken down a peg or two!
