When I sit down to read a new book from author, Vicki Lewis
Thompson I'm fairly confident that I'm going to get every
penny's worth from it. Therefore with her latest title from
Harlequin Blaze, WANTED I knew I was in for some good reading.
Nick Chance is one of three brothers who are now ranching
The Last Chance that has been in the family since the late
1930's. Nick is not just a rancher, but a veterinarian as
well. However, when Dominique Jeffries stumbles across Nick
putting up fencing it's quite easy to think he's just a
ranch hand, and not one of the owners.
The attraction between the two is instant and as I find to
be fairly typical in Ms. Thompson's blazes the sex starts
quickly and in this case anonymously as well. However it
doesn't take long for names to be exchanged, and for
Dominique to feel embarrassment as thinking that one of the
ranch owners was merely a hand.
Both Nick and Dominique have trust issues that need dealing
with, and instead of trying to work them together they end
up tearing the couple apart. However, what is a good book
without a bit of conflict, and these underlying trust issues
need to be dealt with, and who better to assist than kindly
neighbor and bed and breakfast owner, Pam? To find out why
Pam wants to help you're going to have to read for yourself.
The only thing I found lacking in WANTED was a bit of the
humor that I personally associate with Ms. Thompson's work.
I totally enjoyed the book otherwise, and found myself glued
to the pages until I finished. I'm looking forward to the
rest of the trilogy, and extremely glad I don't have a long
wait!
Photographer Dominique Jeffries has come to
Wyoming to find herself—her creative self,
her sexual self. After escaping the engagement
from hell, she’s dying to break loose and live a little.
And seducing a shirtless, sweaty cowhand looks
like just the place to start.…
Nick Chance isn’t exactly a cowhand but, hey, he’ll
be whatever the lady wants! Only he soon realizes
that this is more than just a quick roll in the hay.
There’s something about Dominique that calls to
him, something about her that completes him.
There’s only one problem. Dominique wants a fling,
not another relationship.
Little does she guess how easily she’ll be
persuaded to take a Chance—again and again and again
