Romance Historical

Althea Vaughn Channing had been accompanied all her life by visions of the boy, then the man he became. Nothing of stellar import was shown, just glimpses of his life now and then when staring into the fire, or when her mind was at rest. When a new vision showed her the man of her dreams was in danger of having his life wrested from him Althea had to take action. She packed up her trunks and headed to London, leaving the quiet country backwater of her home behind, and sought the aid of her Uncle Iago Vaughn to find her mystery man. She and her family had been blessed and burdened with varying gifts, hers was the gift of sight; usually visions of what was happening at the moment, but in this rare case, giving her a glimpse of a possible future in time to avert tragedy. Iago's gift of seeing spirits of the dead would come to have chilling uses as well. Through the reoccurring visions of her handsome stranger she felt she knew him fairly well, but nothing prepared her for meeting him in person, for the visceral effect his vital presence had on her equilibrium... Hartley Greville, seventh Marquis of Redgrave was not used to being placed off balance, yet since his first glimpse of the dainty Althea he had not been able to right himself. He found her inexplicably attractive, yet when she spoke, it became clear she was a few crackers shy of a tin. If she were having visions he was his own Aunt Hattie. How did she and her Uncle know so much about the secret government mission in which he was engaged? Were they spies, and if so, why show their hand so blatantly? IF HE'S WILD is the third in Hannah Howell's Wherlock series (Book 1 was 'If He's Wicked', Book 2 is 'If He's Sinful'). As usual the relatives gather round, and add a great deal to the richness of the story line Howell has her usual deft touch with humor and rhythm, and the story adds some fascinating detail to the saga of the Wherlocks with their unusual birthright.

SUMMARY

An enchanting new novel from New York Times bestselling author Hannah Howell that will make you believe in the power of destiny-and desire-all over again...

She Sees His Face Everywhere...

Lady Alethea Vaughn Channing is haunted by a vision of a man in danger-the same man who she has seen in dreams time and time again. She doesn't even know his name, and yet she feels the connection between them, knows she is the only one standing between him and disaster.

...Yet They Have Never Met

But rakish Lord Hartley Greville is capable of protecting himself, as he has proven more than once in his perilous work as a spy for the crown. If he's to carry out his duty, he'll need to put aside the achingly beautiful woman with the strange gift. And yet, when Alethea's visions reveal a plot that could endanger children, Hartley will not be able to ignore the destiny that binds them together-or resist the passion burning between them...
