Romance Suspense

After losing a teammate on a deadly mission, Hunter Wesley Thorton-Payne III, an operative for the American Intelligence agency B.A.D., promises revenge. He must use all of his skills to prove to his boss that he is fine and not going rogue; while using his resources to work his own agenda to locate the killer. His research confirms that using his background of being rich and privileged gains access to all of the elite parties, including a charity ball with ties to the terrorist group he is tracking. Ready to be bored and eager to have the night over with, a delightful distraction sweeps through the room, catching his attention. Before he can figure her out, everything goes wrong and he must play knight-in-shining-armor with danger at every corner.

Abbie Blanton will use whoever and whatever she can to gain access to a charity ball to speak to the host. The answers to helping her failing mother weigh heavily on gaining access, so Abbie must do her best to look like she belongs among the rich and stuffy. Unaware of the other agendas in the room and completely focusing on her solitary goal, she draws the attention of another guest who comes to her rescue on more than one occasion. As her opportunity approaches, gunshots erupt, leaving one woman in critical condition and Abbie on the run with the one man willing to help her regardless of the secrets she keeps. Together they enter an adventure that tests both their wills.

SILENT TRUTH has thrilling and exciting action scenes with characters that come alive on the pages (regardless of the fact I was missing 10 pages of the review copy). A very pleasurable read!

SUMMARY

Tough-as-nails Bureau of American Defense agent Hunter Thornton-Payne is no stranger to uncomfortable top-secret missions, but tonight takes the cake. He just needs to stick out a stuffy charity fundraiser long enough to find the ruthless assassin he’s hunted for four years. It’s a rogue operation, but Hunter’s got nothing to lose—until a beautiful brunette unexpectedly pulls him into her own dangerous agenda.

Abbie Blanton will do anything to find out why her healthy mother has become critically ill. When a high-profile heiress is shot as Abbie tries to blackmail her for the truth behind her mother’s mysterious illness, Abbie realizes she’s stumbled into an unforgiving conspiracy—and she’s the next target. She and Hunter discover an alarming connection that puts them at opposing goals as they begin a treacherous battle against an evil enterprise a secret organization will go to terrifying lengths to keep hidden. Death is inevitable for someone before it’s all over.

Survival comes down to choice. Her salvation or his redemption?

Only one can win and the assassin holds the best odds.
