Syn has been hated and mistreated all his life. All because of who he had the misfortune of being born to. Yet he is loyal to his friends and those he cares about, which are a select few. When Shahara Dagan one of the universes best bounty hunters comes after him Syn must decide if he will open his heart again and risk the hurt or stay alone forever. As Syn and Shahara begin their adventure they must learn to trust one another. Shahara only knows the things that have been written about Syn and as time goes by she learns the truth and sees the real man. What is the truth? Can she trust Syn or is he just using her? Shahara and Syn must find the evidence that will clear his name but the evidence has been long buried. While they search for the evidence the two begin to have feelings for each other. Both Syn and Shahara have pasts and hurts that they must overcome and heal from if they wish to ever find peace or love.
I enjoyed how the relationship between Syn and Shahara progressed. Syn is a wonderful and honest man that no one sees, all because of his parentage. Shahara is a smart and strong woman. Willing to do what needs to be done to get her man. She never gives up on Syn once she realizes what a good man he is. The two of them make a great team always able to elude the enemy.
I have yet to be disappointed when reading a book by Sherrilyn Kenyon and she does not disappoint with BORN OF FIRE. Whether it is her Dark hunters, the League novels or any of her other series Sherrilyn Kenyon weaves a wonderful story. Creating worlds that keep the reader entertained from start to finish.
