Romance Suspense

Life can change in the blink of an eye. This is none more obvious than in the life of Christina Cardiff. Married to Wall Street wizard Jason Cardiff, Christina had everything anyone could wish for -- wealth, prestige, a beautiful son. But her marriage was failing, and Christina had turned to adultery and alcohol to sooth her soul. When she finally could no long stand herself or her situation, she tried to do the right thing, and check herself into a rehab facility. And it seems things were looking up until the director of the facility informed her that her husband Jason had been found dead at their home, having drowned in the pool. Suddenly Christina is plunged into a riptide of events that could threaten to destroy everything that she holds dear in her life. Barely sober, Christina rushes home to discover that Jason's untimely death is being investigated as a homicide, and that she is a person of interest to the police. Teetering on the edge of sanity, she calls the one person she believes she can cling to in this time of desperation, her lover Danny Cunningham. That turns out to be a bad idea, as Danny is mysteriously involved in the circumstances surrounding Christina's husband's death and he seems determined to bring Christina down the treacherous path to murder with him. Author Margaret Carroll delivers a fast-paced, intense novel of suspense and passion with RIPTIDE. This is a gritty story filled with the gut-wrenching agony of a woman's life out of control. Mesmerizing until the very last page, readers will find this book to be intriguing as well as slightly exhausting as the main character struggles to push her head above the waters of betrayal and deceit surrounding her.

SUMMARY

Christina achieved unparalleled wealth and prestige when she married Jason Cardiff, Wall Street wizard and Mayflower descendant. But once the cracks in the union began to show, even the towering privet hedges surrounding their East Hampton estate could not contain the dark rumors. Then everything came crashing down . . . At an exclusive Midwest rehab center, Christina receives the shocking news that Jason has been found dead in their swimming pool. The discovery that she's a murder suspect shatters her newfound sobriety and propels her back into the dangerous arms of Daniel Cunningham ”the mysterious blue-collar worker who may have been present the night of Jason's death. But her rekindled affair could cost Christina her son, her fortune, and her life” and if she cannot conquer her re-emergent demons, the truth and the tide will drag her under permanently.
