This is the continuing saga of the Titan family still living under the thumb of their controlling father Jed. You know you have to learn from your mistakes. Skye Titan paid with heartbreak the first time she listened and married Ray the man her father chose. All ready in love and in her heart committed to another Skye let her father force her hand. Now it looks like history is repeating itself -- this time the chosen one, TJ, seems to be attracted to her younger sister Izzy but the prize is to be awarded to the next husband of Skye and is not transferable. Izzy and Skye have always had a somewhat difficult relationship and dealing with TJ is adding fuel to the problems. Add to a complicated scenario the return of ex-Seal Mitch Cassidy, the boy Skye unceremoniously dumped at the demand of her father, now injured and back at his ranch with many issues of his own to resolve. Not the least of which is the undeniable attraction to Skye and the addition of a new possible sign of her betrayal -- an eight year old daughter Erin. The question is how hard and cold has Mitch become. Just what is he capable of in dealing with the chance that Erin is his. And of course what choice will Skye ultimately make now as an adult who hopefully has the backbone and strength to choose with her heart. Let us not forget that Garth, Jed's newly discovered son, is lurking in the background. Garth is still doing his best to exact his revenge on the Titan family and the unerring question is just how far he will go and is anyone safe. Talk about being blunt, he introduces himself as Jed Titan's bastard. Says a lot about the man and just how much like his father he is.
First I have to admit I couldn't wait till this book was released -- I was hooked after Under Her Skin. LIP SERVICE does a good job of reacquainting us with the friends and family of the Titan family. The reach of the family continues to grow with each book and so do the characters. Once again Mallery brings to light the conflicts between the siblings and as we read Skye's story we begin to realize how their lives have been so controlled. In this book we also begin to see the siblings developing strengths of their own. And I dare you to not fall in love with Erin. Now I eagerly await the next installment. Enjoy.
