Someone is out to make trouble for the Titans. You know a
family is a dynasty when their first name is "the." Well
actually it's Lexi Titan's spa Venus Envy that's in
immediate trouble and it looks like her only hope is to make
a deal with Cruz Rodrigues. Cruz has a short list of demands
and in exchange Lexi gets the two million dollars to pay off
the sudden call on her business loan. The last time they
were together was a one nighter ten years ago which it seems
made a vivid impression on each of them. Cruz, as it turns out, was Lexi's first and this ill-fated
passionate and hot union was definitely one to beat. But by
morning's light Lexi knew her only option was to walk away
never expecting to see Cruz again and yet here she was
seriously contemplating a deal that would affect her in so
many ways. It sounded so simple. All she had to do was
pretend to be engaged, move into his house & bed and
introduce him to all the "right" people. In return her
business would be saved which would keep her in the running
for control of Titan World and its holdings. But at what cost? Titan patriarch Jed has coldly pitted Lexi against her two
sisters, Skye and Izzy, winner take all meaning Titan World
and the Glory Gate mansion. Cruz and Lexi have thus far been
successful in keeping romantic entanglements out of their
lives -- both cautious of what damage loving someone can do
physically and emotionally. Their successes are built on
drive and willingness to take chances and risks. Now all
they had to do was keep their eye on the prize. But as Lexi
begins to get under his skin Cruz starts to realize that
what started out as a simple arrangement evolves into a race
with an entirely different prize. UNDER HER SKIN introduces us to the Titan family and exposes
some secrets that have remained well hidden for many years.
Now the gates have been opened and in this book Mallery just
scratches the surface of the depth and consequences of these
secrets. She only hints at what trouble still lays ahead for
the family of Jed Titan. This story will certainly continue
to entertain and intrigue the reader as we delve deeper into
the lives of a very diverse cast of characters in the next
book of the Lone Star Sisters series.
SUMMARY
Lexi Titan can just see the headlines. All of Titanville
will be buzzing. Not that she has any other choice. Faced
with exactly thirty days to come up with two million
dollars, she is out of options. Marry Cruz Rodriguez or lose
everything—the successful day spa she built herself, her
tyrant of a father's respect. And the long-standing
competition with her sisters for the family
business. Cruz has money, success, smoldering good
looks—everything but the blue blood needed to become a true
member of Texas society. If Lexi agrees to be his fiancée
for six months, lending him her famous father's influence
and connections, he'll hand her a check on the spot. And in
